Course Description
Psychoacoustics is the study of the effect of music and sound on the human nervous system. Therapeutic applications of specially designed music and sound have proven to be powerful adjuncts to health and education modalities. Joshua Leeds, critically-acclaimed music producer, author, and sound researcher, is co-developer of The Listening Program, a Tomatis-based sound therapy.
In this seminar, he explores the extraordinary effects of sound, the importance of auditory health, how stress- or noise-induced auditory dysfunction may result in learning, communication, and social difficulties, and the interconnection of tonal processing and neurodevelopmental issues. Learn about resonance and entrainment for brainwave modification, sound stimulation techniques to invigorate auditory skills, and how to create soundtracks conducive to office ambience, treatment application, and classroom environments. An examination of psychoacoustic music production techniques will also be included.
